'Transition' is a traditional old Croatian stone house/villa, we have converted into comfortable retreat holiday accommodation, where you can relax, rejuvenate and enjoy yourself. The house sleeps up to 12 people. You will also have access to the sea, sightseeing of nearby ancient hill top towns and views of beautiful natural landscapes. The house is in a small village called Diklic'i, nestling amongst the vineyards and hills, with views of the Ucka mountain range, on the peninsula of Istria in Croatia, a short drive from the coastal town of Porec'.

Our aim is to offer you a holiday of peace and tranquility coupled with enjoyable and wholesome food of the region which is to be found in the many restaurants in Istria.

The house was originally renovated in 2006 to the highest standard with bespoke hand crafted oak kitchen, stone Istrian fireplace in the lounge and a beautiful solid oak staircase leading to 4 double bedrooms, 2 with double beds and 2 larger rooms with double beds and extra sleeping for 2 more persons in each. All rooms have fully tiled wet rooms and separate WC also central heating and fans. Downstairs there is under floor heating and another separate WC next to the Utility room, which has a dishwasher, washing machine and ironing board.

The kitchen has an electric double oven cooker with 6 gas burners and butler sink with mixer tap. Worktops are solid oak and granite. All crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc are supplied as well as a microwave, toaster and fridge.

In the Bedrooms all bed linen and towels are supplied. The house is cleaned once a week.
Surrounding the house outside, is a large terrace, perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the part covered pergola with BBQ by the pool is great for Al fresco dinning and parties or even yoga classes.

Supplies can be purchased from a grocery van that calls in Diklici 3 times a week as well as a fishmonger bringing freshly caught local fish. Visnjan is 3 kilometers away where you will find mini markets, butchers, bank with ATM, restaurants and coffee shops. Porec has several supermarkets and lovely old town with lots of shops and restaurants.

THE HOUSE IS STRICTLY NO SMOKING – ashtrays are provided for outside use.

Outdoor activities and sight seeing in Istria

At the nearby tourist towns of Porec' and Rovinj, you can swim in the clear blue coastal waters and visit the Venetian architecture.

Cycle or walk through the local woods, vineyards and countryside or follow designated routes in Porec'. Bikes are available to hire from main towns. Or, just relax in our beautiful garden with flowers and shrubs, lawn and hammocks and the private 8x4.5 meter pool which is surrounded by a stone paved bathing area with sun beds.

Visit Motovun and Grosnjan the charming ancient hill top towns where many arts and crafts can be purchased. The famous Roman Amphitheatre is found in Pula and the nearby island of Brijuni are very interesting with a museum about President Tito and a wild life park.
